The Tri-Agency (Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), and/or the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC)) have revised their 2026 Open Access Policy, which applies to “all peer-reviewed research articles resulting from the Agencies' grants and Chair awards awarded as of January 1, 2027, including grants and awards administered by the Tri-agency Institutional Programs Secretariat (TIPS), regardless of whether the publication also features research supported by other funders.” (Guidance and FAQ for 2026 Tri-Agency OA Policy).
